HS2 are ‘reconsidering’
Hundreds of our fantastic supporters from the Chilterns and further afield have written to HS2’s Chief Executive, Mark Thurston objecting to HS2’s plan to fell her, demanding an explanation and a review of HS2’s plans. We are so grateful for your support. It really has made a difference.
Other local bodies: The Chiltern Society, Great Missenden Parish Council, Prestwood Nature, Wycombe Friends of the Earth, as well as the Woodland Trust, RSPB and the Wildlife Trust have stood alongside us showing their support for Ilona.
As a result of this ongoing pressure, it seems that HS2 are (finally) re-considering their design plans for the area around Leather Lane. The Campaign are hosting an event attended by interest groups and Councillors along with a selected audience of press at Ilona on Saturday 29 October from 12-2pm as part of the Woodland Trust’s ‘Check a tree week’. HS2’s plans are in direct contravention of their own Environmental Statement which incorporates the Mitigation Hierarchy which requires HS2 to AVOID ecological harm where possible.

If you have written already, you should have received a response from Rohan Perrin. Please respond and insist that they fully re-consider their current plans and ask to know the outcome with reasons.
