Hello, fellow archery supporters,

Today, I have something to tell you about my archery campaign after an encounter with the Queens Baton for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. I went down to see the baton at the Elizabeth Park in Stratford, East London where it was here on route across the Commonwealth. This was due to the timing of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations for the Queen where it was taken here to show off. I went there to see it, and who would have thought that there would be the president of the Commonwealth Games herself.

Dame Louise Martin was there watching over the relay and I went up to her, introduced myself, and shook hands with her. I told her about my campaign for archery in the Commonwealth Games and that I had delivered the petition to the offices of the CGF in London last November. I asked Dame Louise about what has happened to the petition and she told me her staff had seen the letter in their inbox and it was now in their offices to be seen in due course. So I am delighted to confirm to you that it is now in the hands of the decision-makers and they will probably get back to me later, presumably after the Birmingham games. This should put you at rest for a while and me too, where I will now take a back seat from trying to connect with the CGF and get back to playing and promoting archery and the Commonwealth Games too.

Happy Days ahead fellow archers. Advance the Commonwealth.
