WE DID IT — ABBY IS GETTING HER COMPANION CARD! 💛

DCJ has just contacted me to let me know that Abby’s Companion Card has been approved.

And at almost the exact same time, our petition reached 1,000 signatures.

I am honestly overwhelmed with gratitude.

To every single person who signed this petition, shared Abby’s story, sent messages of support, contacted decision-makers, spoke up for her and helped us keep going — thank you.

What began as one family asking to be heard became a community of 1,000 people standing together and saying that disability-specific care must be recognised, even in very young children.

Abby’s needs were never simply about her age. She requires significant support to participate safely and meaningfully in the community, and today that has finally been acknowledged.

This card will make a real difference to our family. It will help Abby be included in outings, activities and experiences with the support she needs beside her.

I am so proud of our beautiful girl, and so thankful to every person who stood with us.
