If you had told me we were going to receive 250 signatures on this matter I would have been over the moon. To have received 2500 is mind boggling and goes to the heart of the matter to show that we do really care about our elderly and want to ensure they are treated compassionately and with dignity and that their views and thoughts are taken into consideration in all matters concerning health and welfare.

I received an email from the CEO yesterday (I am assuming only because I made direct contact with a couple of board members) to tell me that :-

"It is not in accordance with our procedure to allow direct access to the Board on such matters" and that "we are following all recommended procedures in this matter"

What a wonderful blanket response from the leader of an organisation that is meant to be standing up for the rights of the elderly and vulnerable.

Procedurally the CEO is following the right internal corporate guidelines, irrespective of social, ethical or moral concerns related to this issue. This to me sounds very much like an issue for the Board to address and be held accountable for?!
