Well it’s been another busy day in our “campaign headquarters” which now refers to somewhere between the floor of the nursery and playmat on the floor of the kitchen. The wave of media requests continued and I discovered just how amazing the Bluetooth earpiece I got for Christmas is - I can do interviews while still having two hands to take care of my baby!
Today’s media coverage involved a live interview with Adam Stirling on CFAX1070, a taped interview for segments to be played on News1130 and a phone interview with Dan Ferguson for the Langley Times. As the Langley Times is a part of Black Press Media that story actually has spread its way across a variety of local papers so watch for it in your local press - I was reminded of this when my mother in law sent me a link to it in the Comox Valley Record!
Other highlights from today include rolling out our social media blitz “a fact a day helps keep the smoke away” as we count down towards petition deadline - also know as #letskeepthesmokeaway. I received confirmation from the Clean Air Coalition also today that they are going to participate in a media campaign to get the word out about the petition! So please join in the social media blitz if you’re connected and follow/like us on Twitter and Facebook @airweshare.
I also received tons of emails last night and today from new supporters interested in our initiative, wanting info on how to sign the paper petition and offering support in various ways that their skills allow. Thank you all so much!
Three tasks that are at present the most important: (1) collect and submit those paper-based signatures, (2) share the news of this campaign with as many people as you can, (3) let’s take this momentum nation wide!!! If you are a supporter from another province or you know someone from another province who’s suffering and wants to see change happen...get them involved! Get in touch with me and we will explore how we can use this momentum to propel the next provinces into a similar direction!!
