On April 28, 2021, the search for James Chairez ended. His body was found and recovered from a duffel bag under his mother’s trailer home. His mother- initially claiming she privately adopted James to a local family, was soon arrested. 
Since her arrest, her charge has been DOWNGRADED to tampering with evidence and the jail is calling family members asking if they would provide her with a home (shelter) in the coming weeks. This means the courts are RELEASING her or planning on releasing her. We want Honorable Judge Michael Mery of the 144th District and San Antonio District Attorney Joe Gonzales to know that FAMILY and COMMUNITY of James do not want nor feel safe having D’lanny Chairez on our streets. If she is capable of harming a baby- she could retaliate against family and more. She is also a flight risk because of the publicity of this case. We need James to have Justice and this is not right.
