Everyone knows Coach Branon for his accomplishments on the field ! Let’s not forget that he was also an avid supporter of strong education ! The educational program and the athletics program went hand in hand. This is something that my Father deeply believed in, and tirelessly worked on. He taught Social Studies (World History & American Government) at WHS. When he wasn’t working on his preparations for class, you could find him on the field ! That included another team’s field, for scouting :)
 My Dad inherently knew that a strong educational program helped to build a strong athletics program, and that a strong athletics program helped to inspire continued education. Both uplifted and grew Pirate Pride & Community Pride !
