Two days ago I met with a Congressman. He now Has the letter that's been in my pocket for the last four years. 

I was also honored to read the letter in the S. Dakota Legion State Convention with 100% positive feedback.

Many Legionnaires (Veterans) have told me that a resolution ought to be written up and voted upon. I did so as soon as possible. I will start at the state level and move up with God's help. 

Here is my draft:

"Resolved,

That the Purple Heart Medal of the United States of America be honored to bestow upon Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who live with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from combat action. 

That upon validation of this legitimate war wound, the Department of Veterans Affairs in conjunction with the United States Military will notify the Veteran in writing that The President of the United States and a grateful Nation desires to bestow upon them, for their Living Sacrifice; the Purple Heart. 

That it is the decision of the aforesaid Veteran to accept or refuse the Purple Heart. 

That the Veteran be honored in proper ceremony in keeping with the Traditions of the United States Military by an Officer of the United States Military."
