To everyone who signed, shared, and supported: We did it!
Because of your voices, I am officially declaring "Victory" on this petition.
I am very proud to share that, with the help of historian Richard Wiles and Joel Gerring of the Michigan DNR, a new program has been initiated to allow for the installation of a public memorial bench on North Fox Island!
The North Fox Island memorial will be the first project under the Wildlife Division’s new “Memorial Tree and Bench Program.”
For 49 years, the survivors of the "Brother Paul’s Children Mission" have carried their stories in the shadows. This memorial ensures that their courage is recognized in the very place they were once forgotten. The plaque, designed by confirmed survivor Michael Farquhar, will serve as a permanent vow: “Never Forgotten • Never Again.”
The Final Step: Bringing the Bench to the Island
While the state has approved the project, the cost of the memorial and transporting it to North Fox Island fall to us.
Our goal is to have the bench installed by July 2026, marking the 50th anniversary of when these events were first exposed.
I am asking you to take your support one step further. Please help us fund the physical memorial by visiting our GoFundMe page:

Every dollar brings us closer to ensuring these survivors are honored with the dignity they deserve. Any excess funds raised will go toward similar memorials for High Island and a planned memorial for victims of the Oakland County Child Killer.
Thank you for helping us turn a dark chapter of history into a place of reflection and remembrance.
Respectfully,
Dylan Harrington
