Petition EDDC/Honiton Town Council asking all Councillors to resign.

Petition EDDC/Honiton Town Council asking all Councillors to resign.
The Issue
Over the past few years the reputation of Honiton Town Council has been very poor. The council has spent tens of thousands of pounds on legal fees, two clerks have taken sick leave due to work related stress. Various councillors have resigned in the last 4 years and there have been disagreements and allegations publicised in the press and social media. Although there has been some good work done by some councillors it is time for a fresh start.
I believe that Honiton Town Council has not been operating in the best interests of the Town and that there is a disruptive element amongst the current councillors. The only way to solve this is for the town to re-elect the councillors it wants representing them.
You will be signing this petition to request that the town council needs a fresh start and therefore ALL town councillors are to resign from the council to allow a new town council to be elected by the town's people. It will be another 3 years before we get an opportunity to re-elect new town councillors by which time it may be possible the town council could be bankrupted due to the legal fees and other legal issues could be in the pipeline.
Are you prepared to allow these actions to continue, are you happy with how your tax money is being spent, do you want to make a difference and voice an opinion if so please sign this petition.
Please note the town council is under no legal obligation to resign but this will show how the town feels regarding the conduct and transparency of the current council. We welcome the existing councillors to stand for re-election and present new manifestos.
