As you all know - the HK Gov’t announced on Jan 18 that an employee and customer at Little Boss Pet store in Causeway Bay tested positive including some hamsters. They’ve also mentioned there IS NO EVIDENCE YET TO SHOW THAT PETS CAN TRANSMIT THE VIRUS TO HUMANS however they want to be cautious. By being cautious:

- Around 2000 small animals will be dealt with. 
- Ban on import and sale of hamsters
- Anyone (think of the kids!) who purchased a pet hamster on Dec 22 2021 has to give up their pet (to be euthanised/put down)

These creatures are living things- surely there must be another way to handle something that hasn't even been proven. Animal lovers in HK please unite
