Over 700 Flat buyers have now signed the petition to Amend Maharashtra Ownership Act, 1970. We are also seeing the ripples effect of it. Individual flat buyers are now approaching their elected representatives to support the motion of amendment of the MAOA, 1970 in the upcoming session of the Maharashtra Assembly.
Yesterday, a delegation representing Palladium Grand flat owners met Hon. Jagdish Mulik at his office and handed over an appeal on behalf of the flat owners. It requested the Hon. Jagdishji in whose constituency Palladium Grand falls to take up the issue of repeal or amendments in the Maharashtra Apartment Ownership Act, 1970 so that the harrasement of the flat-buyers at the hands of the builders/promoters be stopped at once.
Team briefed Shri. Jagdishji about the difficulties of the Flat Owners face and the gross misuse of the MAOA, 1970. He was requested to take up the issue in the upcoming winter session of the Assembly. He was also made aware with the online petition and the response to the petition seeking significant amendments in the MOAA, 1970.
1. Please circulate the petition to various contacts in person or through social media platforms.
2. Meet your elected representatives and strongly appeal them to support the repeal and/or amendment into the Maharashtra Apartment Ownership Act, 1970.
Together we can make change happen to strengthen the consumer movemement in real estate arena.
