Many thanks for signing and spreading the word so fast.. 

In the meantime, I came across this other petition with a similar goal.. https://chn.ge/2L4h5nP

They seem to be nearer to our goal. They even have some updates.. They have received information from UN that the Kerala Government or India Government had not asked UN for help yet. UN says India is quite capable of handling such a calamity. Clearly that is the impression they get from our governments.. We are not here to debate on it.

Anyway, we now have a more focussed direction. I will add updates to our petition about this.

Our plea is now to the Chief Minister of Kerala and Prime Minister of India, whoever should make that decision, to:

1) DECLARE THIS AS A NATIONAL DISASTER, THIS IS THE FIRST STEP..!!

2) WHEN THEY NOTICE THAT RESCUE AND RELIEF IS NOT PROGRESSING AS EXPECTED, MAKE DECISION WITHIN HOURS TO ASK FOR MORE HELP, DEPLOY MORE FORCES, EVEN PLEAD INTERNATIONAL RESCUE SERVICES TO JOIN US.

I know that our rescue officials and locals and fishermen have been working tirelessly, and they have saved thousands of lives already, but we cannot rely on one form of help. We should not lose time. People are still stuck in places battling with lives.
