Mother's Day is being celebrated in North America and in many other places around the world this Sunday, and I am wishing you to have a Happy Mother’s Day 2019!
Here is some more information about total unprofessional, unethical, immoral etc. conduct/actions of the registered nurse Lisa whom I once –by a chance – encountered during my UNBC Community Health Nursing focus practicum course before my graduation.
As I mentioned before, Lisa is from a different team of the registered nurses at the Northern Interior Health Unit in Prince George, British Columbia Canada than the team of the registered nurses to whom I was assigned for my last UNBC nursing practicum placement at the Northern Interior Health Unit. Lisa - by chance worked with me during one shift of our registered nurses’ team at a clinic because a registered nurse from my team with whom I was booked to do that shift was unable to come for that shift and she asked Lisa to come instead of her.
I worked at the different types of clinics. That particular clinic, one shift of which I worked with Lisa, is focused on the particular area of women’s health/services. For one of the clients, I performed a test for pregnancy. However, Lisa deliberately by her own personal reason(s) told my client the wrong result etc. I spoke up and told my client the correct result and left up to my client to make her decision. Lisa grabbed that test for pregnancy and silently quickly left the office leaving me alone with that client. When Lisa with her red face came back to us, Lisa admitted that I was right. As it was discovered, Lisa suddenly run out of that office because she wanted to find a registered nurse or the registered nurses who would support her and would tell that I did the wrong work, BUT Lisa could not find any registered nurse who would tell what Lisa wanted and instead the registered nurse(s) confirmed that my work was done absolutely correct/confirmed my result for that test. I was shocked from Lisa to say the least.
When that client left that office, Lisa started to tell me some things about that client why she by her own personal reasons dislikes that client etc. as some kind of her excuses for deliberately telling the wrong result etc. It was awful and I was again one more time shocked by Lisa’s unprofessional etc. actions/conduct.
Later, by a chance, I met that woman and at that time she was not my client. She approached me. She was shining like the sun with happiness, love, and joy and told me that she was keeping their baby, and she with her new family were doing everything for her/her pregnancy/their baby to be healthy and following her doctor’s advices. I was glad and happy for them.
I was just a UNBC nursing student just some days before my graduation and I had some power. I chose safety for my patients/my clients and what is morally/ethically/professionally right to be done for my patients/my clients.
I believe what the registered nurse Lisa did to that client is wrong because:
- It is immoral to abuse and/or cause any harm to a pregnant woman and her baby.
- Additional stress could cause different negative outcomes both for the woman’s health and her baby’s health e.g. stress might lead to spontaneous abortion aka miscarriage in some pregnant women (Kirchheimer, 2003 June 5).
- The registered nurse Lisa deliberately caused additional stress, worrying, and suffering to that pregnant woman by telling her false information. It was inhuman from Lisa’s side and I was glad that telling my client the truth removed those from that pregnant woman and her baby.
- It is wrong to discriminate against a patient/a client based on the patient’s ancestry, religion, race etc.
- It was totally unprofessional, unethical, and unacceptable for the registered nurse Lisa to do like those to that client. Note also that Lisa worked in the team of the registered nurses that is focused its work on maternity/new born babies etc.
Lisa also retaliated to me by the different ways because I defended my pregnant client e.g. Lisa together with my young preceptor Shellie O’Brien and her team manager Karen Wonders illegally/secretly came to my UNBC Senate when my nursing studying was over to join that group of killers from Martha MacLeod, Khaldoun Aldiabat, Sarah Hanson, Lyle Grant etc. to further discriminate against me/abuse/humiliate etc. Note also that Lisa is a single mother herself and she deliberately/illegally came to my UNBC Senate to discriminate against me a single mother/my child/our family.
A part of the registered nurse practice is about care and compassion to her patients/her clients.
It is horrible etc. how a person as Lisa etc. abusing her power as a registered nurse and what kind of brutal/malicious etc. things have done by her to other people simply because she dislikes etc. the person(s).
