Sub: Meeting at your office on 4th October, 2022 on issues
concerning the Retirees of the Banking Industry --Our Meeting With IBA.

We convey our profuse thanks and gratitude to you for giving us the opportunity to tell our views on the above subject.

WE NOTED WITH GREAT SATISFACTION THAT YOU HEARD US WITH ATTENTION AND CONCERN AND ASSURED US THAT NECESSARY STEPS WOULD WITHIN NEXT TWO DAYS OF YOUR MEETING WITH YOUR GOODSELF,  WE GOT A CALL FORM THE OFFICE OF IBA, MUMBAI INFORMING US TO MEET THEM ON A MUTUALLY CONVENIENT DATE.  IN PURSUANCE OF THE SAID CALL, WE MET THE OFFICIALS OF IBA AT THEIR OFFICE ON 11th. OCTOBER, 2022 AND DISCUSSED THE CORE ISSUES NAMELY:

✴️(1) PENSION UPDATION,

✴️(2) Extension of Uniform DA Compensation to Pre-November 2002 Retirees which was irrationally denied to them in contravention of the provisions of the Bi -- partite settlement,

✴️(3). Medical Insurance Scheme as available to Serving Employees and Officers with reference to Ministry’s Communication to IBA in the year 2012 and other issues mentioned in our Memorandum.

The issues were discussed in detail. In the course of the said discussion, we placed our presentations on 
each agenda item and submitted documents in favour of our contention.

The IBA Team consisting of Deputy
Chief Executive, IBA along with Senior Advisor (HR & IR) and Advisor HR interacted with us displaying positive 
responses. We have sent letter of thanks to IBA recording our gratitude for listening to us with concern, care
and understanding.

MADAM, YOUR INITIATIVE, CONCERN AND RESPECT FOR ELDER CITIZENS OF THE BANKING INDUSTRY WILL SURELY ENABLE IBA TO TAKE POSITIVE STEPS TO AMELIORATE THE SUFFERINGS OF THE ADVANCELY AGED POPULATION OF THE BANKS

It is our earnest request to Your Good Self to ensure that Pension Regulation as notified in the Government Gazette 
is implemented as per the RBI Formula, Extension of Uniform DA to Pre-November 2002 Retirees as per 8th 
Bi --partite settlement and Medical Insurance as per Government's Communication to IBA be also 
implemented.

After meeting Your Good Self, We are confident that there will be a great forward movement of the issues to a logical conclusion. We sincerely hope and believe that all the issues discussed will not again fall in a circle which is not interested in widening its circumference.

We shall be very happy if IBA considers  our views in a sympathetic, pragmatic and humanitarian way and act fast since the time at the disposal of the Pensioners and Retirees is very short. There has been a substantial chunk of membership whose age group falls between 75 to 95 years.

Your highly humanitarian initiative in the case of Improvement in Family Pension is fresh in our memory with a deep sense of gratitude.

 
In the given circumstances, we make an earnest appeal to you to kindly keep an affectionate watch over the developments concerning the interest of Bank Pensioners and Retirees and ensure a logical conclusion of 
the rightful expectations.

We beg to encroach upon your valuable time over another very important area i.e.,the consultative status for the Bank Pensioners and Retirees Organisations at periodic intervals. IBA still hangs over its existing stand that they have got mandate from the Managing Directors of different Banks to negotiate with the serving unions/Associations only and as a result, it is difficult for them to allow consultative status to the Bank Pensioners and Retiree Organisations. We believe that this self-created impasse cannot be crossed over unless an advisory goes to IBA from the Government.

We shall remain grateful for the responsive gesture shown to the senior citizens of the industry and we do expect that you will kindly keep a watch over the developments to follow. We know that it is too much of an expectation from the Hon'ble Union Finance Minister of a vast country like India to get time out of 
Your hectically busy schedule, but we still crave the indulgence of doing so as we cannot forget the clarion call that you gave to all the Bankers to treat the Bank Pensioners and Retirees of the Industry as members of the same family.
