My Dear Friends,
This has reference to my following communication thanking Smt. Nirmala Sitharamanji, Hon’ble Finance Minister who expressed her compassion with open heart in her interview with “Buisness Line” which you are all quite aware of.
The reaction from the Hon’ble Madam is backed up by the required necessary inputs / feed back in black and white for over a LONG period of time , which can be made out from her own expression in clear terms- ie. without any ambiguity whatsoever.
She is evidently seized of the injustice meted out against the lamenting lot of Bank Retiress for over 20 long years….
In this connection, It’s most appropriate to recollect and acknowledge the untiring and self-less efforts on legal front made by several activists / veterns – viz:
Sr.Comrades. Dr. B. Ramji (Late - IOB), Upadhya (late- SBI) , M. C. Singla ( Late- PNB), M S Sidhu (OBC). C N Prasad (SBM Commune), G. Palani (BOB), C N Venugopal (UBI), etc..
In addition to the above, Retiree organizations like”We Bankers”, whose case is still pending in Allahabad High Court Posted to 03rd November, 2020
Me too being one among the above, has also filed PILs in Hon’ble Supreme Court to cause CAG Audit of the Pension Corpus in all the Banks owing to certain instances of misappropriation / embzlement of funds by some Banks / Trust Boards.
IN A STRANGE COINCIDENCE, PROBES BY CENTRAL BEURO OF INVESATIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED IN A FEW ERRING BANKS AT THE INSTANCE OF THE HON,BLE SUPREME COURT.
IN THIS REGARD, I AM IMMENSLY THANKFUL TO HIS LORDSHIP, SRI RANJAN GOGAI, THE THEN HON’BLE CHIEF JUSTICE WHO CAUSED CBI’S PROBE (CONCURENT) TO OVER SEE THE FUNCTIONING OF THE SUPREME COURT REGISTRY ON DAY-T0-DAY BASIS OWING TO CERTAIN SERIOUS MAL PRACTICES HAVING BEEN NOTICED AT THAT POINT OF TIME.
IN THAT PROCESS, MY PENDING COMPLAINTS FOR PIL ON THE MISAPPROPRIATIONS/ EMBZELEMENT OF PENSION CORPUS WERE PENDING AT THE SUPREME COURT REGISTRY WHICH DREW THE IMMEDIATE ATTENTION OF THE CENTRAL BEURO OF INVETIGATION TO ACT UPON.
THIS HAS RESULTED IN MOUNTING PRESSURES ON THE BANK MANAGEMNTS ULTIMATELY.

In this connection, I annex here the communication relating to the VRS retirees case ---Civil Appeal 2463 of 2015 which was filed at the instance of Late Legend Com. Upadhyaya of State Bank which throws sufficient light as to his pains taking efforts.
Even in RBI , Pension updation was restored only owing to the formidable pressure built up by both their working and retiree organizations on cohesive lines –
both organizationally and legally simultaneously which please note. Unfotunately, This is in total contrast in our PSBs.
I thought it appropriate to place before you the antecedents that paved the way for today’s positive response emanating from Smt. Nirmala Sithartaman, Hon’ble Finanace Minister as a matter of solace to the lamenting lot of the retiree-fraternity.
repeate and vouchsafe that - Working Unions and their retiree outfits in our PSBs will never fight the way we are fighting.
