Pls help by taking action HERE (https://www.change.org/p/home-office-stop-deportation-of-reza-to-afghanistan/u/22281189)
We have just received an urgent message from Reza. The specifics are unclear, but it appears that Reza is being prepped for instant removal/deportation.
This is despite the promises that he would not be removed from the UK while his Injunction, Judicial Review and other legal representation were being progressed.
Reza said that his mobile phone has been confiscated, such that his last desperate call was on the Tinsley House pay phone, so we are desperately trying to get his solicitors briefed/engaged to have his deportation/flight (scheduled for this afternoon!) cancelled.
The Home Office’s behaviour in these matters (Re: ALL CHILD REFUGEES) appears to be duplicitous and typical (e.g. confiscating methods of communication, moving detainees without warning or announcement, holding detainees in detention for extended periods of time to negate time-in-country accrued, arranging deportation flights while detainees are waiting upon legal aid/representations, or even over Bank Holidays!).
Having tracked Reza’s paperwork, to and from the Home Office, I would suggest that the Home Office has repeatedly ignored the fact that Reza came to the UK as a child, broken and alone, with very little knowledge or understanding of the world he came from or the world he had arrived in works.
This is the Eleventh Hour!
The Home Office should be ashamed!
How can we condone sending someone who has lived in this country for over half their life back to the mess we have left in Afghanistan? (see https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/21/world/asia/afghanistan-hotel-attack.html)
