Finally... thank you for your patience... an update on Reza’s tragic, frustrating and shameful predicament. We are sorry to say that despite all our best hopes and efforts Reza is still in detention at Tinsley House and has again been served with a notice of imminent deportation. Not only did Reza spend Christmas and New Year locked-up in Tinsley House, but also his 27th Birthday. This makes his situation even more shameful when you consider that he has now spent over half his life in England, yet is being threatened with deportation to a country he hardly remembers. SHAME! I am sorry for keeping this short, but while there is so much more detail and evidence that I wish we could share about Reza and how badly he has been treated (not only by the certain parts of the UK Government/Home Office), at this time it would do more harm to him than good. So please pray, cross fingers, send best wishes, shout, scream and yell, that a plane ticket is not rushed through, like last time in a move to preempt the legal processes and our collective endeavours to keep Reza, our friend, our colleague, our grownup child refugee from being sent away; and please keep promoting Reza’s situation to your families and friends! If we don’t stand up to be counted now, for this grownup child refugee, then we set a precedence for further lies and shame. How can Europe believe Theresa May’s current promise to accept child refugees now? (see http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/theresa-may-emmanuel-macron-child-refugees-calais-jungle-immigration-brexit-le-touquet-a8164541.html). Fool Us Once, Shame on Them. Fool Us Twice, Shame on Us!
