Due to all the hard work by Reza’s friends, new Solicitors, MPs who have taken up his cause, and you (his Petition Signees), Reza’s deportation flight was cancelled at the very last minute by, the Home Office, in lieu of a Judicial Review. Since the pace at which within one week Reza has been arrested and repeatedly moved around the country: • first to The Verne (IDC) in Dorset, • then Brook House (IRC) in Gatwick, and, • then Tinsley House (Immigration Removal Centre) also in Gatwick, • And, also had his mobile phone taken from him (NB: he has now been given a very basic phone by the Home Office) ... it has been very hard to keep in contact and informed of where he is and what is happening. The Judicial Review has bought us a little time to draft a case, also provide an opportunity for temporary admission in the UK, and time for us to really promote the petition and keep the momentum going. I am (we are) really grateful for all your support. I had a phone call from Change.org, and the feedback was we’re doing really well at growing the petition. Keep up the good work and let us make a Change, not only for Reza, but all the child refugees (see https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/nov/02/more-than-140000-told-by-uk-immigration-they-face-removal-says-watchdog) who are getting a bad deal now that they are grown-up.
