Late on Monday, with just 2 hours before Bash was due to board a plane for Kabul, we won an injunction allowing just 14 days for a judicial review. Nicole, her family and Bash's foster mum Dawn drove, at speed, down the M4 to collect their beloved boy. The photo shows the relief, joy and love felt the moment Dawn and Bash were re united.
Last evening I caught up with Bash and the Coopers. All of them are exhausted, traumatised by the last few days but incredibly humbled, inspired and grateful by the incredible support they have received from each and everyone of you. On behalf of this wonderful family - thank you!
On Monday, Bash was shackled (arms, legs and neck) when transported to Gatwick which resulted in an injury to his wrist which is now in a plaster cast - this sweet, gentle boy treated as a criminal.
Last night, I read a report in which the Afghan Government's Minister for Refugees and Repatriation has begged the UK Gov not to send back child refugees, who have grown up and become westernised, back to Afghanistan because of the danger and threat to life they face. Theresa May has refused to listen and are sending these vulnerable young people back to a country where the Taliban continue to have control - the Taliban murdered Bash's father, how can it be safe for Bash to be returned??? Please continue to help Bash - your support and outpouring of love has been astonishing. Thank you, on behalf of Bash and his Welsh family who love him very much.
