There will be two different opportunities on Wednesday, Jan. 19, for you to make comments about the proposed private skyscraper on our public land. You can make a citizen comment at 9 AM at the CRA meeting or at 5 PM for regular Citizen Comments also in the Commission Chambers at City Hall. The mayor and commissioners will be there both at 9 AM and at 5 PM and will listen to each resident speak (each resident can speak for a maximum of 3 minutes). You do not have to pre-register beforehand. Just wear a mask and bring ID and go up to the 2nd floor to sign up to speak. Fill out a speaker's card (either at 9 am or 5 pm) and hand it to the city clerk at the front of the room (Commission Chambers, 2nd floor, City Hall). Then wait for your name to be called.
9 AM is the CRA meeting- the city commission is the Board. Citizen Comments are in the beginning of the meeting and you can speak about anything.
5 PM is when Citizen Comments are always held (3rd Wednesday of every month). Again, you can speak about anything.

- This private skyscraper would be twice the height of Margaritaville, and it would be built on PUBLIC land.
- There are currently zero residents living on these 4 acres, so this would add hundreds and hundreds of more residents to the beach.
- This 30 story private wall would cast a shadow on the sand.
- We haven’t even had one in-person community meeting about this condo.
We don’t need or want this high rise on our beach! The city can make improvements to the property without allowing a private high rise.
