Good Evening Everyone, 6 nights ago, I posted this petition after the reading the People Magazine story. I shed so many tears of heartbreak after reading this story imagining what it must have felt like for these dogs & their humans during Storm Harvey. I couldn't get those feelings out of my heart & out of my head. In 6 short days, 22, 903 people have signed this petition! Tonight, It is with tears of joy, I write the following policy change update from Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) "Many of IHG’s brands, including Hotel Indigo®, EVEN® Hotels, Staybridge Suites® and Candlewood Suites®, and many individual Holiday Inn Express® hotels, already are pet friendly. As IHG hotels continue to shelter individuals and families displaced by Hurricane Harvey, IHG has mandated that all its branded hotels in impacted and surrounding areas welcome pets free of charge during disasters. We have and continue to communicate this requirement to all hotels." IHG Spokesperson Free of charge! Yes, you read that right! Free of charge! I have 4 thank yous that need to be shared: 1. Thank you people magazine for sharing this story. 2. Thank you to fellow animal Advocate Allie Taylor who suggested I write this petition & who helped me tremdously with this process. I firmly believe when you resolve to make a positive difference, the Universe places the appropriate people in your path so that a positive difference can become a reality. 3.Thank you to IHG for implementing this policy change in under a week! This timing is crucial. As a Hurricane Irma heads towards the Caribbean & Florida & raging fires spread across the West, IHG Hotels have many opportunities to implement their new pet policy across all of their brands, wether they are pet friendly hotels or not. 4. Most of all, I need to profusely thank each and everyone one of who signed and shared this petition. Without your signatures & commentary, I do not think a positive pet policy change would have happened so quickly. Thank you! Thank you! Please remember this if in the future you see a right that needs to be wronged, a policy that needs changing or anything that needs improvement.
