HOLDING POLICE ACCOUNTABLE FOR HOMICIDE!!! #JUSTICEFORKRIS
The Issue
Look closely at his face...this is what police brutality looks like. Four Escambia county Florida police officers did this to my nephew while he was in handcuffs , then claimed he assaulted three of them. Had he not wanted just to go home after spending several months in jail, the charges would have been dropped. But he wanted out so he took probation, then came back to Texas to be with his family. That resulted in a probation violation and a warrant for his arrest. It was that warrant that brought the Denton County Sheriffs Officers out to where he was staying. And when he tried to run, they killed him in cold blood, shooting him square in the middle of the upper back. A kill shot. They could have easily tased him and stopped him but used deadly force instead. When police officers kill, should they judge themselves? Of course not because this would be a conflict of interest. Yet that is exactly what is happening in Denton County, Texas and across the nation. Citizens are losing faith in law enforcement and the judicial system. More and more families are being left in the dark and seeking truth when their loved ones are killed at the hands of police officers and those officers are never held accountable. They are never held accountable because they are investigating themselves. Across the nation, police agencies are involved in conspiracies to conceal evidence, committing perjury, and and are involved in ongoing coverups. This is exactly what DCSO did in the case of my nephew, Kristopher Scott Adams. On September 16, 2019, one unknown DCSO officer fatally shot Kris in the middle of the upper back as he attempted to flee. They, along with Sheriff Murphree and Ken Paxton, the Attorney General, have continued to deny and ignore the family's numerous attempts and requests to view the body cam video from the shooting. Every family has the right to the truth. And we have waited 15 long painful months. We are demanding that the DCSO release the body cam video, at least to the family, immediately. Why wouldnt they release it immediately if there was no wrong doing and if they claim the shooting was justified? I cannot accept that shooting someone in the back is EVER justified!
We DEMAND that the Denton County Sheriffs Office release the body cam video from the shooting on Sept. 16, 2019 involving Kristopher Adams. The family wants answers and deserves to know the truth about what happened. The attorney general of Texas needs to order the DCSO to release the body cam video because it is public information.
Please sign the petition so we can finally get JUSTICE FOR KRIS!!!!! And for each person losing their life every day at the hands of the very people who have sworn an oath to protect them.
