Your Signature Helped Save the Pier. Your Pledge Can Help Reopen It.
Dear Supporter,
More than four years ago, you signed the petition to save the Holden Beach Fishing Pier. At the time, the future of the pier was uncertain, and many wondered if it would ever be preserved.
Because of your support, and the support of nearly 1,500 others, the community made it clear that the Holden Beach Fishing Pier mattered. Your voice helped demonstrate the public desire to preserve this iconic landmark, and ultimately helped lead to the Town of Holden Beach purchasing the pier property.

Today, we are entering the next chapter of that journey.
The goal remains the same as it was in 2022: reopen the Holden Beach Fishing Pier.
Whether that is accomplished through repair or rebuilding, the objective is to once again see families fishing, making memories, and enjoying one of Holden Beach's most treasured landmarks.
At this month's Board of Commissioners meeting, they will consider engaging an engineering firm to perform an underwater inspection of the pier pilings. This inspection is critical because the pier has been closed for nearly four years, and we need an accurate assessment of the condition of the structure below the waterline.
The results of that inspection will help determine the best path forward.
If the pilings are found to be in good condition, repairing the existing pier may be possible. This option has consistently been the most requested by supporters and could prove to be the most cost-effective solution.
If the pilings are not structurally sound, rebuilding the pier may become the most practical path forward.
Either way, one thing remains clear: the public continues to want the pier reopened.
That is why I am asking for your help once again.
I have launched the Founders 1959 Pledge Campaign with a goal of securing 1,959 pledges in honor of the year the pier was built. We have over 300 as of this update. Every pledge demonstrates continued support for reopening the pier and helps show town leaders that this project remains important to residents, visitors, property owners, and generations of families who cherish the Holden Beach experience.
Your pledge is more than a financial commitment. It is a statement that the Holden Beach Fishing Pier still matters.
