Now is the time to push forward for the reopening of the pier. The latest estimated cost to repair came in well below the $750,000 originally estimated in October of 2021. The recent engineering report suggests an estimated cost to repair at $116,000 since the underwater inspection has been completed.
The Town is in the process of creating a master plan for the development of the pier property. Look for updates concerning public input into the design and potential uses of the pier property.
We have an opportunity to create an iconic family beach amenity on the coast of North Carolina. I look forward to seeing it come to fruition.
