The Issue

TikTok claims to be a platform built on creativity, community, and fairness  but their moderation practices tell a very different story.

Countless users  especially women, creators of color, and members of marginalized communities  are being targeted, bullied, and unfairly banned, while harassers, trolls, and abusers stay active and untouched.

TikTok’s Community Guidelines are not being applied equally. They are being weaponized.

Users who defend themselves are penalized, while the people who instigated the harassment are allowed to keep posting freely. Entire accounts are being deleted without warning, based on vague or one-sided “violations,” while offensive and abusive content is allowed to remain live for days  sometimes permanently.

This is a breach of TikTok’s own contract with users. A platform cannot claim fairness while enforcing rules in a biased, inconsistent, or discriminatory way.

It also raises serious questions about consumer rights, platform abuse, and freedom of speech.

If freedom of speech is protected for bullies but punished for those who speak up for themselves  then it’s no longer free.

You can’t allow one group to say anything they want, no matter how offensive and then strike down someone for simply responding or defending themselves in return. That’s not moderation  it’s systemic silencing.

📢 We, the undersigned, demand:

Immediate review and reinstatement options for wrongfully banned accounts
Transparent, accountable moderation with real human oversight
Independent investigation into biased enforcement and content suppression
The right to defend ourselves without punishment when we’re harassed online

TikTok cannot expect its users to respect a system that refuses to respect them.

We demand change, fairness, and accountability  now
