On June 23rd, while in the middle of a shift, Rae (one of the counsellors who let go and spoke out against the layoffs) lost the ability to access any programs needed for work. They said that at first, they believed their laptop (work issued) had died, and when they tried to use Slack on their phone (the messaging system used for work), they noticed somebody had deleted it. Rae then tried to access their work email to contact their on-shift supervisor but found it deleted. Trevor told us to call an on-call digital supervisor line in case of on-shift emergencies, so Rae attempted to call that number 3x and got no answer.
Rae has unknown numbers blocked on their phone for personal safety reasons, but after seeing multiple missed calls and receiving a voicemail, they turned off that block. The voicemail was from Insight Global HR, and they asked Rae to call them back, so Rae did. They told Rae that they could not transfer them and that the person on the line did not know who the HR person was. Rae then received a call and was told they were being put on a paid leave pending the investigation results (the one they filed for discrimination after being laid off) and that it would likely not be complete by their end date.
When Rae initially filed the investigation, HR was 15 minutes late to the meeting and did not give an apology or explanation. They refuse to put anything into writing. Now Rae is unable to talk to anyone in leadership anymore.
