Recently, I ran into a Massachusetts State Senator while out in the community. I informed him that I had sent correspondence to his office months ago. He apologized, noting that staffing changes in his office may have caused the delay in responding.
More importantly, he acknowledged that he has received numerous complaints from others about the Springfield Housing Authority, specifically regarding pest infestations and broader mismanagement.
While this wasn’t a formal meeting, the conversation confirmed what many of us already know: SHA’s failures are not isolated or unknown, they’re part of a broader, ongoing problem that is now being noticed by state leadership.
He told me he would follow up, and I intend to hold him to that.
This brief exchange serves as an important confirmation that what we’re experiencing is systemic, not individual.
I will continue pushing for answers and accountability. Thank you to everyone who has supported this effort.
