Received: Friday, April 25, 2025 (Letter dated April 23, 2025)

Following my formal complaint delivered to Mayor Domenic Sarno on April 23, 2025, I received a letter in response. The Mayor acknowledged my correspondence and expressed sympathy for my situation. However, he stated the following:

“Please note, SHA is a state-run program and I have no direct jurisdiction with these state programs. I have shared your information with the Springfield Housing Authority for their review and clarification.”

Let’s be clear: forwarding a complaint back to the agency accused of misconduct is not accountability, it’s deflection.

This is a systemic issue involving civil rights violations, misuse of public funds, and retaliation against protected activities. The community deserves more than a polite dismissal. We deserve action.
