The governance of our community at Desert Oasis in Surprise, AZ, has come under significant strain due to the actions of our current HOA President, C. C. Hunziker. As a resident deeply invested in the well-being of our neighborhood, I have witnessed firsthand the misinterpretation of our community's covenants. President Hunziker has repeatedly abused the power vested in her role, disrespects and disregards the voices of homeowners and conducts the HOA to the discrimination of voices she does not agree with leading to decisions that do not align with the interests of our homeowners.

One of the most serious concerns is the misuse of HOA funds. It has become apparent that financial resources allocated for the betterment of our community are being and/or are intended to be used to pay for legal and attorney fees to support the enforcement of rules that were neither discussed nor agreed upon by our community members as per the governing documents, namely the Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&R). These actions not only deviate from the agreed-upon guidelines but also set a precedent for future mismanagement and erosion of trust within our community.

Our community is built upon mutual respect, transparency, and a shared vision for a thriving neighborhood. Allowing such discrepancies to continue without addressing them undermines the very foundation of our association and erodes the trust we have placed in those elected to represent us. It's crucial for us to take a stand and ensure that our HOA operates with integrity and in accordance with the established covenants.

Calling a special meeting of the Desert Oasis HOA to bring forward a vote on the removal of President Hunziker is a necessary step towards restoring confidence and ensuring that our community's governance is in capable and trustworthy hands. We must act collectively to preserve the values and financial interests of our property and community.
