Perplexity AI has marketed its paid subscriptions with the promise of unlimited access and “premium support.” However, what is documented on its pricing pages (especially the Enterprise pricing section) shows strict weekly and monthly caps across most core features—limits that many users say are not communicated clearly enough before purchase. This creates a gap between the expectations of customers who signed up when the offer was presented or perceived as “unlimited” and the service actually delivered.

Customers paying about 20 EUR/month20EUR/month (or 20 USD/month20USD/month) for Perplexity Pro commonly report:

Aggressive query limits that reset weekly
Advertised features that fail, become unavailable, or trigger upgrade prompts mid-use
“Premium support” that effectively amounts to a Discord community channel and an Intercom contact that users describe as a bot, with very slow response times
Quiet feature downgrades or removals (for example, changes affecting image generation in some EU regions and video generation), without meaningful notice, creating uncertainty about what the plan actually includes
According to the limits shown on Perplexity’s Enterprise pricing page, the stated caps are:

Pro queries: Pro 200/week200/week, Enterprise Pro 400/week400/week, Enterprise Max 4,000/week4,000/week
Deep research: Pro 25/month25/month, Enterprise Pro 62/month62/month, Enterprise Max 500/month500/month
Asset generation: Pro 25/month25/month, Enterprise Pro 50/month50/month, Enterprise Max 500/month500/month
File Q&A: Pro 50/week50/week, Enterprise Pro 100/week100/week, Enterprise Max 1,000/week1,000/week
Video generation: Pro 3/month3/month (but many users report being blocked and pushed to upgrade), Enterprise Pro 5/month5/month, Enterprise Max 15/month15/month (with audio)
Video generation issue
Pro subscribers are told they have 3 videos per month, but many users report that when they try to use the feature, they are frequently prompted to upgrade to a higher tier (such as Max), making the feature effectively unreliable or inaccessible on Pro.

The support problem
Per Perplexity’s Help Center, “Pro support” includes:

A Pro channel on Discord (“contact our team and other Pro users”), which functions more like community support than professional customer service
Support via Intercom from the settings page, which many users experience as automated responses rather than timely human support
The reality reported by paying customers is often weeks-long waits for a reply, if a reply comes at all. For a 20$per month subscription marketed as “premium,” this level of support is widely viewed as unacceptable. By contrast, Enterprise tiers explicitly include dedicated support at a much higher price, leaving Pro users largely dependent on community channels and chatbots.
