Hello everyone,
It has been a while, I hope you're all well. I have an update to share:
Today I am launching legal action against Facebook for the Cambridge Analytica scandal. I can now announce that I am the Representative Claimant in a class action for the 1 million people whose data was harvested by Facebook without our permission, knowledge, or consent. This kind of representative action will, I hope, show that Facebook owes us honesty, responsibility and redress.
In 2018 I started a petition calling for Mark Zuckerberg to take action in response to this data misuse case. The petition has been signed by over 180,000 people. I then delivered the petition to Facebook HQ in London, and yet, 2 years on, we have not received a response. Facebook is yet to be held to account for their role in failing to protect our data.
That is not acceptable.
Now I am working with lawyers at Milberg London to hold Facebook to account. We, the people whose data was misused, are standing up for justice in the digital age.
To find out if you were impacted, go to https://www.fb-youoweus.co.uk/. You can also show support online using the hashtag #FacebookYouOweUs.
I wanted to take this opportunity to say, once again, thank you for signing this petition. Now that things are progressing further, I would really appreciate it if you can:
1. Check if you were affected by the breach using this website
2. Sign up to updates on the claim using the website
3. Spread the word about the claim on Twitter and Facebook
Your support can help to bring about the change we seek. Thank you to everyone who has backed this so far. Let's do this.
