Hold digital abusers and institutions accountable
Hold digital abusers and institutions accountable
The issue
My life was turned upside down by a system meant to protect me. I've endured the unimaginable, digital abuse, family violence, constructive endangerment, stalking, impersonation, theft, and identity hijacking. These experiences went hand in hand with financial sabotage that brought me to the brink of ruin. I found myself evicted, threatened, isolated, and crying out for help into a deafening void. Supposed protective structures targeted me instead, leaving me feeling erased and silenced.
I know I'm not alone; there are countless others who have endured similar nightmares. I've met other victims, and we share similar tales of suffering and betrayal at the hands of the individuals and institutions that chose to cover up and protect them rather than admit fault, which comes at the cost of our happiness and freedom. Our lives. The system is broken, and this petition seeks a remedy not just for me but for all those affected by these actions.
Our goal is for institutions to take responsibility for perpetrators of these life destroying crimes to be brought to justice. We are demanding transparency and action so no one else has to fight their battle alone.
According to a study by the Pew Research Center, 41% of Americans have personally experienced online harassment. This is a widespread issue that isn’t just harming individuals, but the very fabric of our society by instilling fear and mistrust in digital interactions.
We can change this. We must push for stronger legislations and insist on accountability from both individuals and organizations involved. As a society, we cannot accept the silencing of victims through intimidation and inaction. By raising our voices together, we stand a chance to stop these criminal activities and demand systematic reforms.
I am calling on friends, allies, and everyone who believes in justice to join this cause. Let’s push for an investigation into these practices, demand investigations, actions against those culpable, and work toward establishing safeguards that protect victims rather than persecute them.
Sign this petition to make your voice heard. Help us bring about the change needed to hold digital abusers and negligent institutions accountable for the profound harm they cause. Let us end the silence and assure justice for all who’ve been wronged. Everybody deserves to have the freedom of life, and to voice when it’s actively being taken from them. Please help stop our erasure.
