Hold Carson and Ric Nichol accountable for murdering and torturing marine wildlife
The Issue
Carson and Ric Nichol have been posted in numerous posts that have shown them harassing and abusing a shark on the shore of New Smyrna Beach. Do they have a shore-based shark fishing permit? We are demanding that Florida Fish and Wildlife review what these two boys have done and charge them with animal cruelty. This was not a harvest of a shark, this was complete torture and mutilation of a marine animal. These two boys need to be charged with aggravated animal cruelty so that a direct message can be relayed that there is a correct way to harvest a shark, and then there is torture and animal cruelty which they have performed. Their actions have shown a disregard for Floridas natural resources, as stabbing a shark in the head multiple times and watching it flail around was funny to them. They also told the female in the video she would wind up in the hospital if she helped the shark, as Ric was holding a mallet. Florida fish and wildlife conservation regulations and statutes strictly prohibit such inhumane acts, and they need to be held accountable!!
We also demand that Carson and Ric have their fishing licenses revoked permanently.
We also would like the Florida state Fire college to be notified where Ric attended, along with his son Reece. This family should not be serving the community of New Smyrna beach, Redlands, or Homestead!
Per Floridas statutes…
This act of violence is criminal per the Florida statute Chapter 828. We expect charges to be pressed as per law. The public is growing more concerned as no charges have been pressed yet.
828.12 section 2 states that a person who intentionally commits an act to any animal which results in the cruel death, or excessive or repeated infliction of unnecessary pain or suffering, or causes the same to be done, is guilty of a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or by a fine of not more than $10,000, or both.
call Ron DeSantis to demand changes to the law at (850) 717-9337
