Hold Big Oil Accountable: Demand Full Climate Damage Disclosure and Liability Now

Hold Big Oil Accountable: Demand Full Climate Damage Disclosure and Liability Now
The Issue
For decades, oil and gas corporations have known their products were fueling global warming — and they hid the truth.
Communities across the world are now paying the price:
homes lost to fires,
towns destroyed by storms,
families displaced by floods and heat,
rising food prices and water shortages.
Meanwhile, the companies most responsible continue to make record profits without revealing the full climate damage caused by their emissions.
This must change.
What we are demanding
We call on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to require:
1. Full climate-damage disclosure
Oil, gas, and coal companies must publicly disclose the climate harm associated with their products, including emissions, environmental impact, and projected global-warming contribution.
2. Legal accountability for deception
Companies that knowingly misled the public must face consequences — including financial penalties and mandatory climate-restoration contributions.
3. Transparent reporting before new projects
No new drilling, pipelines, or fossil-fuel expansions should be approved unless companies publish verified climate-impact statements.
Why this matters
Millions of people are already losing homes, livelihoods, and loved ones to climate-driven disasters.
We cannot solve the crisis while the companies responsible are allowed to hide the true cost of their actions.
Transparency is the first step to accountability — and accountability is the only path to justice.
Governments move when the public demands it.
If just a few of us speak up together, Change.org will amplify this petition to thousands more.

We deserve a future not decided by corporate secrecy.
