As passionate NRL supporters, we are distressed by the lack of impartiality exhibited by referees Ashley Klein and Grant Atkins in the grand finals. We believe they were biased towards Penrith, overlooking multiple penalties committed by the panthers, and making questionable calls on tries that greatly affected the outcome of the games. They wrongfully announced the panthers’ first try when we have video evidence that it never touched the ground. Furthermore, they unjustly declared Jack Howarth’s try a no-try, despite clear evidence to the contrary.

This has risen from being merely disappointing to a clear case of injustice in the refereeing standards of the NRL, a sport cherished by countless fans across Australia and worldwide. We call upon the NRL to review the refereeing decisions and performance of Klein and Atkins. This experience has shaken our faith in the fairness and integrity of the game.

We demand accountability and action to ensure that moving forward, the NRL establishes stricter guidelines and clearer processes for fair game officiating. The sport we love deserves impartiality, transparency and integrity, and this starts with the referees' actions on the ground.
