Late last week, President Obama issued a statement calling on the Iranian authorities to immediately release Jason and the other Americans who have been detained. Ahead of the Iranian New Year, President Obama said: “It is especially painful that on a holiday centered on ridding one’s self of the difficulties of the past year, Jason’s mother and family will continue to carry the heavy burden of concern regarding Jason’s health and well-being into the new year." I'm hopeful that more and more people will sign this petition, so that we can bring Jason home soon. Although an Iranian judge recently denied our request for Jason to have a five-day furlough from prison, we continue to press on in the fight for his release.
