As a devoted Toronto Blue Jays fan, the heartache from the 2025 World Series still lingers. Our promising team was at the brink of glory, only to have our dreams dashed by unfortunate base running errors. It's evident that we need a strategic change in leadership on the base paths to bring back the World Series trophy where it belongs - to Toronto.   

Marquis Grissom stands out as the ideal candidate for the position of third-base coach. His impressive resume includes being a 1995 World Series Champion, a two-time All-Star, and a four-time Gold Glove Award winner. His expertise as a base stealer who stole 429 bases during his MLB career (including 78 and 76 in consecutive seasons) and his expertise in both the offensive and defensive aspects of the game is unparalleled.  He coached the American League Future Stars team in 2025 and his experience on the field would be invaluable in mentoring our players to make smarter, split-second decisions while running the bases.

Grissom's success as a player was not just built on personal accolades, but on his ability to elevate those around him, contributing to his teams' overall success. His leadership qualities and track record make him an excellent choice to guide our players and refine their skills.

The Toronto Blue Jays have a rich history, and the loyal fan base yearns for another title. By hiring Marquis Grissom, we move one step closer to achieving that dream. Therefore, I urge Mark Shapiro, the President, and Ross Atkins, the General Manager of the Toronto Blue Jays, to seriously consider Marquis Grissom for the crucial role of third-base coach.
