Hire 5,000 Unhoused Individuals by 2028

Hire 5,000 Unhoused Individuals by 2028
The Issue
Help Los Angeles Turn Homelessness Into a Workforce Solution:
Every day in Los Angeles, thousands of people experiencing homelessness want to work but are denied the chance to contribute. At the same time, our communities are struggling with illegal dumping, unsafe sidewalks, and blight that drains neighborhood morale and hurts local businesses.
We have a solution that fixes both problems at once.
It’s called Sanitize Uplift, a workforce initiative that:
- Hires unhoused individuals living in transitional housing
- Pays them daily to clean our neighborhoods
- Builds skills + confidence
- Helps them secure permanent housing
- Creates a pathway toward full-time employment and long-term career progression
This is not charity.
This is infrastructure powered by human potential.
Proof It Works
One of our newest hires joined Sanitize Uplift two weeks ago while experiencing homelessness. Today, he is approved for voucher-based housing and finally on a path to stability because he was given a job and had proof of income. All he needed was someone to give him a chance.
Work works.
Let’s help thousands more like him.
The Results Are Measurable
Cleaner neighborhoods lead to less crime, safer streets, stronger local businesses, and increased property values. By offering participants fair compensation for meaningful work, at a cost far lower than traditional enforcement, this model turns public spending into community strength. Every dollar fuels dignity, not debris.
As participants secure housing through programs like voucher-based housing, they gain the stability needed to transition into full-time employment and long-term independence.
Sanitize Uplift employs 51 participants today, growing to 100 by year’s end and 5,000 by 2028.
We Need Your Voice
We are calling on the City of Los Angeles to expand workforce-first homelessness solutions like Sanitize Uplift across the city.
- No more sweeps that push people from block to block
- No more tents as long-term “solutions.”
- No more wasted potential.
Instead: Jobs. Dignity. Clean neighborhoods. Real progress.
Sign If You Believe:
- People deserve a chance to work
- Our neighborhoods deserve to be clean
- Homelessness should be solved, not shuffled around
Together, we can help thousands of Angelenos earn their way back into housing, while creating cleaner, safer communities for everyone.
Sign now: Tell Los Angeles to expand Sanitize Uplift and choose dignity through work
