Easing of Worlds End Mooring 2020 Temporary Regulations Due to Covid-19

Easing of Worlds End Mooring 2020 Temporary Regulations Due to Covid-19

The Issue

Hingham Harbormaster Ken Corson convinced and received approval from the selectmen to implement temporary regulations to enforce a limit on 1 boat per mooring and for anchoring in the Worlds End basin since the beginning of the boating season. With us being in phase 3 of Governor Baker's phased re-openings these restrictions should be eased. I am not talking about an all out "Normal" Worlds end without limits, but we should be able to use our moorings to raft with our families and enjoy the basin. Many people and clubs are paying a lot of money to Hingham to have these mooring locations not to mention the cost to purchase and maintain them; all the while to not be able to use them to their fullest is a huge disappointment. At this point no one wants to use the moorings if they have to be alone, and in many cases they go to the other side of the channel (Hull) and anchor up with their families or close friends do to Hinghams NO rafting rule. The photo attached to this petition shows what Worlds End looks like on a gorgeous Friday night this past weekend. Many of us were off to other safe Harbors to do what we would normally do at Worlds End. I would like us all to sign this petition to ask Hingham Harbor Master and the Board of Selectmen to ease these restriction and allow Worlds End to be a family destination again.
