Namaste All,

We have received over 500 signatures in less than 24hours, so the momentum is great! Please keep it going and share with parents, students and other community members. We worship Shri Rama in Navratri and Diwali, and adorn our homes with the holy Swastika. We cannot allow such bigotry and hatred to go unaddressed.

I will share two personal stories - while I was in high school, I was made fun of as worshipping the devil and weird gods and goddesses. I was attacked by a white bully who hit me with a shopping cart and called me a cow worshipper and nasty racial slurs. My father was attacked in NYC during the Dotbusters era in the 80s. So, this touches me personally! Do we want our kids to suffer academic bullying and Hinduphobia?
