I am celebrating! 

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stone for a multipurpose flood shelter in Bihpuria, Lakhimpur today (Oct 30,2020). The facilities will include a separate section for women and girls. As per a tweet on the CM’s Twitter handle, “in the coming days, similar shelters will be constructed in flood prone districts of Assam”. This is a moment of joy! 

These flood shelters will have a separate space for women, but the announcement does not make it clear if women will get pads in the basic relief  items to manage their periods. Please Tweet to ask this question.

A full page government ad today mentions that these flood shelters will have a separate space for women, but will these really be women-friendly provide pads and separate toilets for women?
