🌿 1,018 SIGNATURES — AND WE'RE NOT STOPPING NOW! 💪

An enormous THANK YOU to all 1,018 of you who have signed our petition opposing Hillingdon Council's garden waste changes!

What started as residents speaking out against the replacement of garden waste sacks with wheelie bins and the introduction of a £69 annual charge has grown into a powerful demonstration of local opposition.

But we're not finished. In fact, we're only just getting started!

Hillingdon Council has now confirmed that it will not accept our petition through its official petition system, citing its rules concerning decisions already made by Cabinet.

That is disappointing, especially when residents were not formally consulted before such significant changes were approved.

I've challenged the Council's response directly, questioned the financial justification for the changes, and raised concerns about the lack of consultation and the difficulties wheelie bins will create for many households.

The Council may have made its decision, but that doesn't mean residents should stop making their voices heard.

🚨 WE NEED YOUR HELP TO KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING!
Every signature strengthens our campaign, but we need to reach more Hillingdon residents.

✅ SHARE the petition with friends, family, neighbours and local WhatsApp groups.

✅ POST it on Facebook and Nextdoor, particularly in Hillingdon community groups.

✅ TALK to your neighbours. Many residents may still be unaware of the changes planned for April 2027.

✅ ENCOURAGE everyone in Hillingdon who supports our campaign to sign. You don't need to be a current garden waste subscriber to have a say.

🎯 OUR NEXT TARGET: 1,500 SIGNATURES!
We're already more than two-thirds of the way there. Just 482 more signatures will get us to that milestone.

And why stop there? The more residents who stand together, the harder it becomes for the Council to dismiss our concerns.

This campaign isn't simply about sacks versus wheelie bins. It's about residents having a genuine say in decisions that affect their homes, their streets and the services they pay for.

We are asking for something entirely reasonable: meaningful consultation, transparency about the costs and practical choices for households where wheelie bins are unsuitable.

1,018 voices are powerful. Imagine what 2,000, 3,000 or even 5,000 could achieve!

Please don't just sign and move on. Share the petition today and encourage at least three other Hillingdon residents to add their names.

Thank you again for your incredible support. I'll continue challenging the Council and keeping you informed of developments.

Let's keep pushing. Let's keep sharing. And let's make sure Hillingdon residents are heard! 🌿
