This afternoon the LA County Board of Supervisors approved the final Puente Hills Master Plan, which includes the development of multi-use trails and the County's first bike park at the 142 acre site!!!
Today's decision was several years in the making, and the team at #BikeSGV would like to thank everyone who took the time to sign this petition, attend a public meeting, and/or contact their Supervisor directly. We cannot thank you enough for your participation in this collaborative effort, which was ultimately supported by over a dozen bicycle and other community-based organizations. We would also like to thank Supervisors Solis, Knabe, and Kuehl for their leadership in supporting this visionary plan and our requests.
Park development is slated to begin in 2018, and we look forward to celebrating a grand opening with you in the years ahead. Until then, check out this cool video our partners at Day One made about the #Park4All: https://vimeo.com/188573554
THANK YOU!!!
P.S., #BikeSGV would also like to remind everyone to please #BikeTheVote this November! BikeSGV and many of our other partners such as LACBC have endorsed LA County Ballot Measures A (Parks) and M (Transportation). Measure A would provide dedicated funding to construct new parks as well as improve and maintain existing County and City park facilities across the region. Measure M would fund transportation improvements of all types, including safer streets for biking and transit improvements such as the Foothill Gold Line extension to Claremont.
