Highland Council has been "consulting" on the future of Academy Street. In council terms "consulting" does NOT mean "ask what folk want then do that." It means "Tell people what we want and make it hard to respond other than positively to the slanted questions."
The latest stupidity sees choices being offered to councillors being narrowed down to
Option A - making current restrictions permanent but still allow cars or
Option B - keep those restrictions PLUS a total ban on cars on Academy Street
See P&J article below.
The Inverness City committee will discuss the proposals this Thursday. If you do NOT want them to keep the restrictions or, even worse, accept the idea of banning cars, it is time to email your councillor. You can find contact details for your councillor by following the link below.

Nearly 5000 of us already objected to the existing restrictions.
Do planners offer nonsense things like Option B to make the unacceptable Option A seem like the good way forwards?
We want the roads reopened to allow a free flow of traffic. The current narrowed road increases hold ups and has regularly prevented emergency vehicles from getting through.
