Curly quotation marks in English Wikipedia
Проблема
English Wikipedia still uses straight quotation marks and incorrect apostrophes throughout its English section. In 2018, there is no rational reason not to use correct and beautiful typography on the Internet. Open any book; you will never find ugly symbols like this: "...". Only this “…”. It is both beautiful, correct and professional.
Unfortunately, Wikipedia’s rules are stuck in the late 90s. There were some technical problems with any “special” symbols back then. Now nearly every device supports Unicode.
Moreover, both German and Russian sections of Wikipedia use correct quotation marks, correct apostrophes and all kind of special symbols that are not present on a typical keyboard. That proves that technical difficulties are not a problem anymore.
Please vote and let us make the English Wiki more professional and more beautiful! We need the attention of high-ranked editors of Wikipedia.
