COP24 has finally started marking progress and shortcomings yesterday. With COP24, COPs (Conference Of the Parties to the Paris Agreement on Climate Change) are finally entering the practical phase of implementation of the agreement, with the unexpected development that the main objective has been turned from "keeping global warming well under +2°C, and if possible close to +1.5°C" to "keeping global warming as close as possible to +1.5°C", which is both a simpler and more powerflul message. This is what IPCC presented in october 2018 in its special report on climate change mitigation, SR15. This is quite different from the position of the organizers of COP24. Polish President Duda clearly expressed that the priority for Poland was to avoid energy sortage thanks to coal, not climate change. Here is what he had to say at COP24:

If you do not agree, now is the time to ask all your relatives and colleagues to sign our petition, so we can show Mr Duda and other pro-coal leaders how wrong their policies are. Here is the short link to share and post on your favorite social networks: http://bit.ly/ExitCoalNow
