We got CMS to declare a date for re-starting their ambiguous pause on the transfer and relocation process that has killed 9 Laguna Honda residents!

Our war is not over, but a battle has been won. Until we move that date to AFTER the recertification is complete, we'll have to keep fighting.
And the numbers are devastating.
LHH shows, on their dashboard, that only 41 skilled nursing residents have been transferred thus far. 9 of them have died. That's almost 21%.
We have about 450 skilled nursing residents in Laguna Honda today.
We could see almost 100 people dead if the transfer and relocation process is restarted by CMS.
Every time I think this is bad, it seems to get worse.
On Saturday we had a rally at Laguna Honda. You can see the speakers here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1TL2yQv6IQ I speak about the transfer trauma deaths at 18:00. I also speak about this petition at 28:40. I did the math quickly in my head when making these statements. I miscalculated and said only 80-85 could die if this trend continues.
A number of articles have come out today about this latest decision by CMS on the pause. All of this pressure on CMS is what is keeping the transfer process from restarting and killing those people.
Thanks again for your support! Please try to find one more person to forward this petition to and keep the momentum going.
Kind Regards,
