Hello there,
On Wednesday, we began our petition for Hershey's to eliminate single-use plastic wrappers and have been blown away by how many responses we have already received. You are receiving this update/email because you are one of the first 250 people to sign the petition. Thank you for your support!
In order to keep up the pressure on Hershey's, our next goal is to reach 500 supporters (we'll send you our next email then, too). Each time we update you, we'll let you know about one thing you can do to help, as well as one thing we're doing to ensure that this petition will be successful.
One thing you can do: Share this petition! Let your friends know by posting, emailing, or texting them a link to this petition, and let them know that collective action is most effective when more people are involved. Together, we can create change. You can find the link to our petition at AquariumKids.org/hersheys/ (it redirects to change.org) or https://www.change.org/p/the-hershey-company-hershey-s-eliminate-single-use-plastic-wrappers (they're the same link). Feel free to copy-paste any of the wording from our petition if you would find that at all helpful. Thank you in advance for sharing this petition.
One thing we have done: Yesterday, we added two more "decision makers" to our Change.org petition. In addition to "The Hershey Company," Michele Buck (Hershey's CEO) and Damien Atkins (one of Hershey's Senior Vice Presidents) will now be receiving updates about this petition. We have added these two Hershey's executives because we want to ensure that Hershey's hears what we have to say. Also, these executives have a say over the direction that Hershey's moves in. They have the ability to make the changes we are petitioning for.
Again, thank you for your support. In 2012, Hershey's was successfully petitioned by 25,000 change.org supporters like us to stop using child labor. Precedent shows that Hershey is willing to listen to the public; your support is crucial to convince Hershey's to eliminate single-use plastics.
Best,
