I have been campaigning for the Huntington Beach City Council for two years and one issue that continually arises is Jet Noise. This issue negatively affects the quality of life in our community. Air traffic noise is an issue that has gradually become worse with the FAA’s Next Gen flight paths.

As your Councilman, I am dedicated to working on behalf of you to address this issue and to achieve results. This will take time and a ton of effort. We will have to educate the community, build consensus with other cities and stakeholders, and ensure our city has a clear plan and stance on how to handle this issue.

I am the candidate that will put in the time and effort to ensure we will make the necessary progress on this issue. I will work with other Council Members to educate the community on Jet Noise and the need to report traffic noise to the FAA. I will work with other local municipalities in neighboring cities such as Seal Beach and Long Beach to form a coalition and a consensus. I will engage with other local, state and national leaders to secure the support we need to get this issue moving. I will do this because leaders will eventually have the opportunity to meet with the FAA in the future to address this issue. Past City Staff and Council Members have squandered this opportunity. I will work tirelessly on your behalf to ensure flights are dispersed through several corridors and not through single corridors as they are on the Next Gen flight paths.

The Jet Noise Commission is important but without proper support from our City Council, the issue with continue to get lost in the shuffle. I will be active in commission meetings to ensure we stay on track so that this commission achieves the results you desire.

Lastly, I will work to educate our community. This means our city needs to take a formal stance and state this is an actual issue. All Council Members should support this cause as this is an issue that impacts all of our lives.

With air traffic coming from every direction and multiple airports, it is important to have Council Members that understand this issue and that will work on behalf of you. I will do everything in my power to push this issue forward.
